With news that Casper has been taken private by Durational Capital Management, the price of the acquisition has been confirmed at $308 million.
While this is a quarter of what the company was valued at when private—more than $1 billion with shares at $14.50—the news announced last Monday raised the share price 88.5% to $6.69.
However, at the close of trading last Friday, the share price went down to $3.55.
While Casper reported that sales had increased 27% to $156 million in the quarter that ended Sept. 30, the company also announced that it lost $25.3 million during the third quarter—compared to a $15.9 million loss for the third quarter in 2020.
