Corsicana Mattress Company has named long-time industry leader Eric Rhea as its new chief executive officer.
Rhea has more than three decades of bedding experience, from his tenure at Leggett and Platt Inc., including being the president of its bedding group.
In his new role, Rhea is focused on renewing Corsicana’s value proposition as the means to continue the company’s dramatic growth.
“Corsicana has an immense amount of talent,” he says. “In a short time, the team has aligned around focusing our efforts on our core markets, understanding the need to provide solutions for our customers, and begun to streamline the business to assure we are lean and agile.
Rhea retired from Leggett and Platt in 2020. Most recently, he was president of North American Pipe and Precast, an infrastructure business for global building materials leader CRH.
He received both his bachelor’s and master’s of business administration degrees from Missouri State University. He replaces Mike Thompson, who resigned in March to pursue other interests.
“The board believes Eric is the right leader for Corsicana in its next evolution. His industry expertise and operational skills are some of his key qualities, and a talented team supports him,” says Matthew Kahn, leader of Corsicana’s Board of Directors.
