Michael Thompson has announced his resignation as chief executive officer of Corsicana Mattress Company and will remain at his post until March 25th and as a consultant to the company through April.
Joining the company in August of 2018, Thompson repositioned the producer of value-priced mattresses into an industry innovator and is credited for the company’s acquisition of Symbol Mattress in 2021.
Among his accomplishments, Thompson recruited a management team, drove revenue growth in underperforming channels and markets, led Corsicana’s entry into the direct-to-consumer market and invested capital to transform manufacturing.
“I am so proud of the senior leadership team, our people, and the partnerships we have with our customers, all of whom enabled us to transform Corsicana into a stronger and more innovative company. The Corsicana team executed an unprecedented and rapid transformation of the company in a very challenging business environment,” Thompson says. “The decision to depart was not easy. I began thinking of the next chapter in my life around the holidays and decided that with the transformation largely completed, this was the right time for me to exit.”
