Research conducted in partnership with Nationwide Marketing Group showed that most people think they know a lot about sleep.

So how can you use this? Ask your customer how much they know. But you don’t want to make them feel stupid, and you don’t want to come off as pretentious or rude. Try making a fun game out of it by giving the customer a quiz and see just how much they know about sleep. After you reveal the answers, you can talk to them about anything they got wrong and drive the sale home from there.

The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker. It’s about hosting gatherings. Let’s face it, many events, get-togethers, and parties feel disjointed and lame. Parker says the most important thing is to develop a crystal clear purpose for the gathering and build everything around that purpose. Only invite people who activate your purpose because everyone else (even if they’re nice) detract from it. Create moments of focus that activate the group’s intended purpose. Don’t be a chill host. “Once guests come into your kingdom they want to be governed…gently, respectfully, and well.”

A new podcast called “The Prosecutors.” In orientation during my first week of law school, one of the faculty advisors told my class “whatever you came into law school with the idea that you’re going to do, likely won’t be what you end up doing.” I was determined she was wrong. I was going to be a Prosecutor. I loved the idea of justice prevailing above all and advocating for victims with no voice. This podcast reviews the elements of a case that fascinate me and reminds me why I wanted to be a Prosecutor. Fast forward a decade, and though I ended up practicing a form of criminal law, it was white collar criminal investigations for corporations.
