Organizations with happy employees have three times revenue growth compared to those who don’t, and employee turnover is half that of companies with unhappy employees.
There are some things employees will always want, and it’s up to you as an employer to hear them out.

1. Hear Me Out
Bush says that employees want to be heard when they share an idea, and they want to know that their leadership considered what they were saying and didn’t just ignore it. People want to know that what they say matters, or else why say anything?
2. Trust and R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Another idea from Bush is trust and respect. This seems simple enough, but it’s not always as obvious as we might think. He says to consider the example of an employee getting a new laptop and 15 higher-ups having to approve the laptop before they can get it. That doesn’t show trust. Plus, it’s disrespectful of everyone’s time who has to touch those approvals.
3. Be Fair
Finally, Bush says to be fair and treat all employees the same. Don’t favor a salesperson who sells more product, because that’s not going to motivate the ones who don’t sell as much to try and sell more. Everyone needs to be treated the same—and that goes for the executive team as well.
